Sometimes because of rain or wind, a bonfire on the beach is not possible (but keep in mind that during inclement weather, if you book a bonfire we won’t make you sit out in the rain!). We once had a client who wanted to propose in December and his event was rained out. We came up with an indoor “bonfire picnic” that was extremely well received by his girlfriend.
The best way to do it is to have us coordinate with the hotel to come to your room while you are out to dinner or out sightseeing during the day. When you return to the room it is set up with:
- After an afternoon of sightseeing, return to your hotel and surprise your special someone. Open up the door and follow a trail of red silk rose petals to your indoor picnic. Soft music will be playing in the background and only the distant light of your “indoor bonfire” will be visible.
- A comfy beach blanket is set in front of the fireplace (or the next best location if no fireplace in the room) and your “indoor bonfire light” is provided by 10 LED candles with a flicker effect set in frosted votive holders. The blanket is decorated with a nautical theme with an assortment of beautiful seashells and large white pearl beads.
- A willow picnic basket is filled with gourmet deli food items including tomato and basil summer sausage, toasted water crackers, merlot cheddar cheese, toasted almonds, raspberry tea cookies, and gourmet cheese straws. A bottle of San Pellegrino is chilled in a beverage container. Plates, napkins, decorative spreader, and champagne flutes included.
- In place of toasting smores – we had a local chocolatier come up with a tasty combination of marshmallow, chocolate and graham crackers. Four are included.
- One dozen beautiful roses wrapped with an elegant ribbon.
- One half-dozen chocolate dipped strawberries
- A Romantic Messages in a bottle gift (your note on parchment, rolled up tight and placed on the blanket)
- “I Love You” spelled out in rose petals in front of the blanket/by the fireplace.
